Cross Country Kicks Off Postseason at B1G Championships

MADISON, Wis. - Northwestern cross country will be put to the test Friday morning as they begin the postseason at the 2023 Big Ten Cross Country Championships, hosted by the University of Wisconsin. The women's 6k race will begin at 11:45 a.m. CT and will be streamed live on B1G+.

Head coach Jill Miller's squad will enter the B1G's premier event looking to build off last year's fifth place finish, their best-ever placement at the conference championships. The Wildcats posted a third-place finish as a team at the same course earlier this season at the Badger Classic. Ava Earl, Kalea Bartolotto and Katherine Hessler all placed in the top ten at that event. Earl paved the way for the Cats', clocking in at 18:03.8 on the 5K.

Northwestern enters the Championships ranked third in the Midwest in the latest Division I Women's Cross Country Regional Rankings. Following the conference championships, they'll compete at the Midwest Regional in Oklahoma with sights set on the first back-to-back National Championship team qualifications in program history.
