Northwestern Women’s Soccer Completes 2022 Signing Class

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern women's soccer head coach Michael Moynihan has announced the addition of Mia Raben, Caterina Regazzoni and Alisha Ware, who will join the program for the 2022 season.
 
"These additions bring some great experience to our team," said Moynihan. "Entering Northwestern as a graduate student, Mia has experience playing against the top teams in the ACC. While Alisha and Caterina both enter as undergraduates, they too bring high levels of experience. Both have played for their national teams, and competed against older players in high level women's leagues. These experiences and their passion for the game will be great additions to our program."

Personal: Helped the U20 Swiss national team win the FIFA Youth Cup … Part of FC Zurich team that won the double this season, winning the Axa Women's Super League and Swiss Cup … Team captain and member of the U19 Swiss national team … Claimed a Swiss Cup Final title … Competed in the Champions League qualifier against AC Milan … Participated in the Euro Elite qualifying round … Also was a member of the Swiss U16 and U17 nationals teams … Chose Northwestern over Virginia Tech … Parents are Philippe and Judith Regazzoni.

At Wake Forest: Transfer from Wake Forest that appeared in 15 games over the last three seasons … Saw action in four games in 2021, making one start against Miami (Fla.) and recording a win while totaling three saves … Played in six games in 2020, tallied a season-high five saves against Florida State … As a redshirt freshman in 2019, playing in five games and made four starts … Registered a career-high seven saves in first career start at Virginia Tech … Redshirted in 2018.
 
Personal: Rated the No. 22 prospect in the Rocky Mountains and Southwest region by TopDrawerSoccer … Member of 2017-18 Colorado Rush U-18/19 team, a U.S. Soccer Development Academy team … 2017 North American Cup champion … Earned three varsity letters and was a two-year captain at Cherry Creek High School … Daughter of David and Carrie Raben … Brother Sam played soccer at Wake Forest (2015-18) and for the MLS' Colorado Rapids … Sister Lizzy played at Duke (2013-17) and now plays for AC Sparta in Prague … Anticipated major is Integrated Marketing Communications.

Participated in U17 Euro Qualifiers in Hungary and the finals in Bulgaria … Played for Chelsea Academy from U11 to U15 … Played for Southampton Academy from U14 to senior squad and debuted for Southampton Senior squad at 16.
 
Raben, Regazzoni and Ware complete Moynihan's 2022 class, joining Charis Toney, Reiley Fitzpatrick, Hayley Newman, Ramira Ambrose, and Brooke Miller, who were announced in November.
