Northwestern Lacrosse Awarded No. 4 National Seed in NCAA Tournament

EVANSTON, Ill. – The Northwestern University lacrosse team has earned the No. 4 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament and will host Central Michigan for a first round tilt in Martin Stadium on Friday, May 13 at 4 p.m. CT. Martin Stadium will also host the second round at 3 p.m. CT on Sunday, May 15.
 
The game will be televised on ESPN+ along with the entirety of the tournament's first and second rounds. Additionally, Martin Stadium will host a neutral site first round matchup between Michigan and Notre Dame at 7 p.m. on Friday, May, 13.
 
Northwestern finished the season with a 13-4 record and a 5-1 mark in Big Ten play. Erin Coykendall, Lauren Gilbert, Jill Girardi and Ally Palermo were named to the All-Big Ten First Team.
 
The Wildcats are making their 23rd appearance in the NCAA Tournament and 18th under head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller. In the last two tournaments (2019, 2021), NU reached the national semifinals and won all four of its home games. Amonte Hiller holds a career NCAA Tournament record of 46-10 (.821).
 
Dating back to 2019, Northwestern has won 17 consecutive home games, the fourth longest streak in the nation. Since Amonte-Hiller guided the program to her first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2004, the 'Cats are 26-0 in tournament games in Evanston.
