EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern defeated Purdue 4-0 at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center on Saturday.
The Wildcats improved to 17-9 overall and 5-3 in the Big Ten. The Boilermakers fell to 9-13 and 2-6 in the conference.
The 'Cats took the doubles point thanks to a 6-1 win at No. 2 from Briana Berdusco and Simen Bratholm and a 6-2 win from Trice Pickens and Natan Spear at No. 3.
The Wildcats ran away with straight set victories at No. 3 from Pickens (6-1, 6-1), No. 1 from Steven Forman (6-2, 6-2) and No. 4 from Presley Thieneman (6-4, 6-1).
The 'Cats return to action on Sunday for Senior Day, when they take on Indiana at noon.
