Football Schedules Home & Home Series With UCLA

EVANSTON, Illinois - Northwestern and the University of California, Los Angeles, have agreed to a two-game, home-and-home football series in 2033 and 2034, the two institutions announced Wednesday. The 2033 matchup will happen at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, while the 2034 game will be hosted at Ryan Field in Evanston. 

The Wildcats are 3-3 all-time versus the Bruins, with the last meeting coming in December 2005 when Northwestern quarterback Brett Basanez had a Sun Bowl-record 38 completions for 416 yards and two touchdowns, and Nick Roach and Kevin Mims each returned a first quarter interception to the end zone. That team featured Dan & Susan Jones Family Head Football Coach Pat Fitzgerald as linebackers coach, leading a group that included current 'Cats linebackers coach Tim McGarigle as a student-athlete. Prior to that the two schools had not competed since 1970. 

All-Time Meetings: Northwestern vs. UCLA

Northwestern will kick off the 2022 campaign in Dublin, Ireland, at the Aer Lingus College Football Classic. The program's first international game will be at Aviva Stadium against Big Ten West rivals Nebraska. Travel packages and ticket information is available at Cats2Ireland.com. The Wildcats open the home schedule at Ryan Field on September 10 against the Duke Blue Devils, and also will welcome Ohio State, Wisconsin and Illinois to Evanston during the fall.
