Evanston, IL - Northwestern Women's Fencing head coach Zach Moss was named the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference Women's Team Coach of the Year on Wednesday afternoon.
Coach Moss led the Wildcats to a 31-13 season record this season, including a win over number one ranked Notre Dame in South Bend and a second-place team finish at the CCFC Championships. Northwestern won the Women's Epee Squad Championship, with second-place finishes in the Foil and Sabre.
At the NCAA Championships, Northwestern finished tenth as a team, beating every squad that qualified three student-athletes and one team with even more student-athletes at the event. The Wildcats had nine All-Conference honorees, three All-Region Team honorees, three NCAA Championships qualifiers and one NCAA All-American in sophomore Sky Miller.
Moss has led the Northwestern fencing program since 2016, helping the Wildcats finish third in the country at the NCAA Championships in 2021, the best team finish in school history. Later that season, Moss was recognized by his coaching peers as the national Women's Team Coach of the Year and the CCFC Women's Team Coach of the Year.
This is the second-straight season Moss has received the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference's highest honor from his fellow head coaches.
