EVANSTON, Ill. – The Wildcats are pleased to announce their numerous summer soccer camps. The Cats' will host a series of camps including a One-Day College ID Camp, two Youth Day Camps, an Elite Residential and Commuter Camp, and our marquee camp, the College Soccer Training Camp. All camps are held ON-CAMPUS outdoors on Martin Stadium and Ryan Fieldhouse inside the Wilson Athletic Center.
The One-Day College ID Camp is an excellent opportunity for those players who are serious about showcasing their talents in a more concentrated setting. Players will work directly with the Northwestern Coaching Staff as well as college coaches from other NCAA Division I, II, and III institutions. The training schedules for the day includes ball mechanics, challenging rondos, 8v8 tournament, and highly competitive 11v11 matches. The camp will take place on June 19th.
Our Wildcats' Youth Day Camps are designed for players of all levels who want to learn and improve their fundamental soccer skills in a fun and encouraging environment. Players are given the unique opportunity to receive individual instruction from Northwestern Soccer's coaching staff and players. Each day is filled with a variety of activities to promote correct soccer technique including small-sided games to encourage personal involvement and enhance the understanding of team concepts; technical and skills sessions; shooting drills; and much more. We will be offering two different sessions in the summer to allow everyone an opportunity to participate. Sessions one will take place from June 20th – 24th with session two being July 18th – 22nd.
Lastly, the College Soccer Training Camp builds upon the concepts from the One-Day ID Camp but over a three-day period from July 27th – 29th. Athletes will work directly with the Northwestern coaching staff and players in addition to coaches from other institutions. The purpose of this camp is to give athletes insight into the daily cadence of being a collegiate soccer player. Players will participate in training sessions, tactical analysis, small-sided games, and 11v11 matches. Residential and commuter options are both available with athletes having the opportunity to stay in dorms and have all their meals provided to them in our dining facilities. Goalkeeper training for BOTH the College Soccer Training Camp and the One-Day College ID Camp will be conducted by Head Coach Russell Payne and Assistant/Goalkeeper Coach Ricardo Pinto. Coach Payne is currently the US Youth National Team Goalkeeper Coach and a former Goalkeeper with the US Men's National Team.
