No. 15 'Cats Open Dual Season With 20-13 Win at Virginia

The Wildcats claimed victories in six of the 10 duals on the night, with all four of their Top-10 ranked wrestlers earning victories.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – No. 15 Northwestern wrestling opened its dual season with a convincing 20-13 win over Virginia on Sunday night.
The Wildcats claimed victories in six of the 10 bouts on the night, with Troy Fisher and Michael DeAugustino picking up bonus points as they earned major decisions.
The Wildcats currently have five wrestlers ranked Top 20 in their nation in this week's FloWrestling rankings, all of whom picked up victories on Sunday. Michael DeAugustino is ranked No. 4 at 125 lbs, Lucas Davison is ranked No. 6 in the heavyweight class, Chris Cannon (133 lbs) and Yahya Thomas (149 lbs) are each ranked No. 7 in their classes, while Fisher is ranked No. 20 at 174.
Currently an honorable mention at 157 lbs, redshirt junior Trevor Chumbley turned in perhaps the most impressive win of the dual, knocking off No. 24 ranked Jake Keating by a 5-2 decision. Chumbley is already off to a strong start to the season after going 5-0 and claiming the 157 lbs. division title at the Michigan State Open.
