EVANSTON, Ill. – Lauren Wadas won Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week following her stunning 80th minute walk-off goal against No. 6 Michigan over the weekend, the conference announced Monday. It marked Wadas' first Offensive Player of the Week award and her first weekly Big Ten award since winning Big Ten Freshman of the Week during the 2021 spring season.

With 37 seconds left in double overtime Friday, Wadas drilled a rocket golden goal into the bottom left corner to hand No. 3 Northwestern a 1-0 win over the Wolverines. The thrilling strike was Wadas' second career game-winning goal in overtime, previously doing so against Ohio State during the 2021 spring season, the performance that secured her first Big Ten weekly honors. It also marked her third goal of the season.

The last-minute goal earned Northwestern's fourth overtime win this season, the most in the Big Ten, and the Wildcats fourth win over a top-10 opponent. The Wildcats have now scored 29 goals in the second half and overtime this season.

Wadas brought home Northwestern's fourth Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors this season and the team's first since Bente Baekers won on September 19. Goalkeeper Annabel Skubisz also won a Defensive Player of the Week award on September 6.
