Fuchs Welcomes Six Wildcats Ahead of 2021 Season

EVANSTON, Ill. β Northwestern Field Hockey head coach Tracey Fuchs announced the addition of six student-athletes, including two graduate students and four members of the incoming Class of 2025, to the Wildcats' program ahead of the upcoming 2021 fall season.

"We are beyond excited to welcome our incoming first-years and graduate students into our Wildcat family," Fuchs said. "As a group, they represent a wealth of experience, athleticism, and skill. Individually, each brings unique character and competitive drive to our team."

Regan Cornelius, Sophie Dix, Lane Herbert, and Lauren Hunter make up the talented incoming Class of 2025 additions, while Clara Roth and Maddie Bacskai join the team as graduate transfers.

The six newcomers join a program that finished the 2021 spring season with a 12-6 record, culminating with the program's second-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament as one of just three at-large selections in the nation. The Wildcats will open their 2021 regular season on August 27 as they host UConn at Lakeside Field.

Totaled 67 goals and 46 assists throughout her high school career, helping lead the Vikings to Division I state championships in 2018 and 2019 β¦ Coached by former Northwestern players Charlotte Vaziri and Tara Puffenberger during her senior season β¦ Named the 2019 Max Field Hockey Ohio Player of the Year and earned 2019 Max Field Hockey 3rd Team All-American recognition β¦ Named an NFHCA All-American in 2018 (3rd Team) and 2019 (2nd Team) β¦ Member of the 2018-2019 U-17 Junior National Team, as well the 2019-2020 USA Rise National Team ...
