Free Virtual Race for Annual Randy Walker Memorial 5K

EVANSTON, Ill. – Registration is open for the 10th annual Randy Walker Memorial 5K, supported by Northwestern Medicine. This year's race will be free and held virtually in order to ensure the safety of all participants.
Our virtual race means you can run or walk 3.1 miles at any time, at any pace, between Aug. 15 - Aug. 22. You can run or walk in any city, state, or country. Strollers and pets are always allowed on this course. Simply track your time, and then use the form that will be emailed to you to submit your results!
For the last decade, Northwestern Athletics & Recreation has hosted the event to commemorate former head football coach Randy Walker. As the event has grown in popularity, race organizers adjusted the course to a traditional 5K in 2019 in order to make it more inclusive for the Chicagoland running community.
The free race will open at 6 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 15, and closes at midnight on Sunday, Aug. 22. Runners will be able to submit their times online through the race website.
All participants will receive a virtual bib and customized virtual finisher certificate. Virtual race packet distribution and prizes emailed to all participants on August 2, 2021.
