EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern sophomore forward Ugo Achara, Jr. earned first team recognition from the Big Ten Conference, while newcomer Rom Brown was named to the league's all-freshman team.

Achara Jr. leads Northwestern with 11 points this season on five goals and an assist. His five goals rank second among all Big Ten goal scorers. He is the 12th Northwestern men's soccer player to earn First Team All-Big Ten honors in program history and 11th of the Tim Lenahan era. Tyler Miller and Nikko Boxall were the last Wildcats (2014) to be on the conference's first team. The Enugu, Nigeria, native was named TopDrawer Soccer and College Soccer News' national player of the week (March 3) after tallying two goals and an assist in the win at Wisconsin (Feb. 23) and then scoring the game-winner in the 88th minute to give NU a 1-0 win over Indiana on Feb. 27.

Brown has been a solid player for the Wildcats in the midfield this season, starting all 10 games. The Hod Hasharon, Israel, native has three points on a goal and an assist. He scored NU's lone goal in the effort vs. Maryland on March 27, 2021.

Northwestern battles Indiana in the opening round of the 2021 Big Ten Tournament on Saturday, April 10. The action will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
