Field Hockey
For the 16th time in program history, Northwestern field hockey heads to the NCAA Tournament this week where it's set to face No. 20 Delaware in the first round. The No. 5 Wildcats secured one of three at-large berths to join the 12-team field in Chapel Hill, North Carolina after a 10-4 record in the regular season, including a two-game sweep of No. 4 Iowa. This marks Northwestern's fourth NCAA appearance under head coach Tracey Fuchs who became the team's all-time winningest coach earlier this year.
Chicago's Big Ten Team enters the NCAA Tournament off an impressive performance in the Big Ten Tournament last week which featured a 2-1 win over No. 8 Rutgers in the first round. Senior Christen Conley and sophomore Alia Marshall were named to the All-Tournament team for their defensive efforts against Rutgers and Ohio State.
The 'Cats face off with Delaware at 2 p.m. CT Friday, and the winner will move on to play Iowa Sunday.
Lacrosse
No. 2 Northwestern lacrosse begins its postseason campaign this weekend at the Big Ten Tournament in State College, Pennsylvania. The reigning champions of the 2019 Tournament, Northwestern secured this year's only first-round bye after an undefeated 11-0 regular season. The Wildcats will play the winner of Ohio State-Rutgers Friday with the first draw set for 4 p.m. CT.
Northwestern's offense is operating at a historic pace, leading the nation with 20.64 goals and 19.36 goals per game. The 'Cats also lead the country in scoring margin, shots and shots on goal per game. Izzy Scane, Lauren Gilbert and Lindsey McKone, the three-headed monster of that offense, were all named as nominees for the Tewaaraton Award last week, the highest honor in collegiate lacrosse.

Women's Tennis
Northwestern takes part in the Big Ten Tournament in Madison, Wisconsin this weekend, having secured the competition's three seed after going 17-4 in team competition this year, including three wins over top-ten teams. With all 14 Big Ten schools competing, Northwestern holds a double-bye and will face the winner of Minnesota/Indiana-Penn State in its first match Friday.
The Wildcats have four 12-win players in singles, Briana Crowley, Christina Hand, Clarissa Hand and Caroline Pozo, and several star doubles teams, including the Crowley/Julie Byrne pairing that has gone 6-1 in the first position this year. Chicago's Big Ten Team blazed through the competition this season, winning 14-straight between Feb. 6 and Apr. 9 and 16 of the first 17 to start the season.
Northwestern's first match is scheduled to begin at noon CT Friday.
Men's Tennis
Northwestern heads to the Big Ten Tournament in Lincoln, Nebraska this weekend after going 12-6 as a team in the regular season. The Wildcats secured the No. 2 seed in the west and the first-round bye that comes with it, set to play the winner of Penn State-Nebraska in their first match Friday.
Northwestern has dominated in doubles this season, with the Simen Bratholm/Nick Brookes team recording a 11-4 in the first position and the Chris Ephron/Dominik Stary team recording a 12-2 record in the second position. Presley Thienemen has been untouchable in the sixth position for Northwestern, building an undefeated 10-0 record in singles.
The Wildcats' first match is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. CT Friday.
Men's Golf
The men's golf program heads to Carmel, Ind. for the Big Ten Championships this weekend. The Championships will begin on Friday and last until Sunday, May 2.
Last weekend, the Wildcats tied for seventh out of 17 teams and fifth out of 11 Big Ten teams at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate tournament hosted by Ohio State. The 'Cats tied for the best score in the opening round at 286.
John Driscoll led the way for Northwestern, finishing tied for second at one-under par. Driscoll was consistently excellent over the weekend, shooting 71-71-70 in his three rounds.
At the 2019 Big Ten Championships, David Nyfjall earned a top-15 finish, tying for 11th place at the tournament at 10-over-par.
Softball
Northwestern welcomes Illinois to Evanston for a four game series this weekend. The 'Cats will look to improve upon their 22-10 record.
The 'Cats took one game last weekend in a tight series against No. 20 Michigan. Danielle Williams tossed a complete-game gem, allowing just one run and two hits over seven innings, to help the Wildcats secure a win in game one of the series. Catcher Jordyn Rudd had five hits, including a home run, and five RBI over the series to lead the 'Cats offensive attack, while Skyler Shellmyer collected six hits out of the lead-off spot.
The games will take place at 3 p.m. CT on Friday, noon and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Friday and Saturday's games will be streamed live on BTN+, while Sunday's contest will be broadcast on Big Ten Network.
Baseball
Northwestern baseball looks to get back on track this weekend as they welcome Michigan and Illinois to Rocky and Berenice Miller Park for two games each. The 'Cats will take on Michigan on Friday at 3 p.m. CT and Saturday at 10:30 a.m., then will play Illinois at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday and 3 p.m. on Monday.
Last weekend's series against Maryland and Iowa saw huge performances from junior Shawn Goosenberg and first-year Ethan O'Donnell. Goosenberg went 8-for-13 over the 'Cats final three games on the weekend, capping off the series with a two-run home run in the final game against Iowa. O'Donnell doubled his career home-run total with a three-home run performance over the weekend. The Highlands Ranch, Co. native blasted home runs in the final three games of the series, collecting five runs, five RBI, and three walks in the process.
