The La Palma, California, native put herself within striking distance of the top of the leaderboard by shooting a 2-under 70 in Saturday's second round, capped by back-to-back birdies on Nos. 17 and 18. On Sunday, she opened her round with five consecutive pars before carding three straight birdies on 6, 7 and 8. She added birdies on No. 11 and No. 18 to finish the final round with birdies on all four of the Par-5 offerings at TPC River's Bend. Over three rounds, she played the Par-5's at 7-under, best in the field. Kim's surge up the leaderboard ended in second-place only because of a historic final round 64 from medalist Kate Smith (NEB), the lowest final round score in Big Ten Championships history.

As a team, Northwestern finished in fifth place after carding a 867 (+3). Junior Kelly Sim birdied 18 on Sunday to card her second straight round under-par and secure a T9 result. Senior Brooke Riley and first-year Jennifer Cai also earned Top-25 finishes for the 'Cats.

The 2021 NCAA Women's Golf Championships selection show will air on Golf Channel on Wednesday, April 28, at 1 p.m. CT. The 2021 Big Ten Women's Golf Championships will air on Big Ten Network at a date in the near future.
