Shawn Goosenberg hit a walkout three-run home run to sink Michigan State
Trailing 5-4 in the ninth, the 'Cats put two on with no outs behind a single from Ethan O'Donnell and a walk from Anthony Calarco. Then Goosenberg crushed a 1-1 pitch over a replica of the Green Monster in left field at the Fenway-inspired Fluor Field to give the 'Cats a 7-5 win.

The Wildcats earned a 3-1 series win over the Spartans and improved to 5-3 after two weeks of the 2021 season.
First year Garrett Boeckle earned the win after throwing a scoreless top of the ninth to keep it a one run game. Jack Sauser threw 1.2 innings of scoreless relief with two strikeouts, while Jack Dyke had a solid start on the bump, throwing 5.0 innings and allowing just one run.
Goosenberg's home run capped off an impressive day with three hits and five RBI. Stephen Hrustich collected two RBI on one hit while leadoff man Anthony Calarco reached base three times with two hits and a walk resulting in one RBI and three runs scored. David Dunn went 2-3 from the plate as well.
Northwestern will face Minnesota for a three game series starting on Friday at US Bank Stadium, where the 'Cats faced Penn State on Opening Weekend.
