'Cats Post Pair of School Records on Day One of Big Tens

MINNEAPOLIS — Northwestern women's swimming sits in third place with 106 points after night one of the 2021 Big Ten Championships thanks to a pair of school records in the 200 medley relay and the 800 free relay.

The Wildcats opened up with Emma Lepisova, Sophie Angus, Miriam Guevara and Madeline Smith in the 200 medley and the group touched the wall with an NCAA A-cut and school record time of 1:36.20 to place second overall in the event.

In the final event of the night, Ally Larson, Ilektra Lebl, Annika Wagner and Selen Ozbilen placed fifth in the 800 free relay with a school record time of 7:06.00.

The Wildcats will return to the pool tomorrow for the 200 IM, 50 free, 500 free and 400 medley relay.
