EVANSTON, Ill. – No. 23 Northwestern looks for its first ranked win of the season against No. 14 Ohio State, who has defeated three ranked teams in a row. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. CT on Monday night at Welsh-Ryan Arena on Big Ten Network.
The Wildcats improved to 9-3 last time out with a 87-80 win against Iowa on the road, completing their first regular season sweep of the Hawkeyes since 1982-83.
Lindsey Pulliam scored 27 points on 12 field goal attempts and Veronica Burton added 20. Sydney Wood and Jordan Hamilton also scored in double digits as the team shot 50% from the field.
Northwestern's three first years all stepped up in a big way against Iowa, combining for 16 points. Bigs Paige Mott and Anna Morris played 20 minutes each with Morris posting a career-best eight points on 4-7 shooting. McWilliams added four points.
Northwestern owns the best turnover margin in the country (+11.3) and the sixth best assist-to-turnover ratio (1.47). The 'Cats rank fifth nationally in steals per game with 13.2.
Burton ranks second nationally with 4.4 steals per game, and is two steals away from second place on the all-time list at Northwestern.
Last season, the Wildcats defeated the Buckeyes on the road, 69-55 in the penultimate regular season game. Pulliam scored 16 points while Sydney Wood added 12.
