EVANSTON, Ill. – The Wildcats are looking to complete their three game homestand with three wins when they host Indiana on Friday night at Martin Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT and will be streamed on B1G+.
Fans in attendance will receive Northwestern hats and the first 75 students in attendance will receive a Northwestern scarf via a voucher that is redeemable at 7:20 p.m. The first 200 students in attendance will receive Raising Canes. Additionally, the Purple Band will be in attendance.
The Cats are coming off the heels of wins against Illinois and Nebraska at Martin Stadium last week. Regan Steigleder and Josie Aulicino scored goals against Nebraska en route to a 2-1 win, while Steigleder scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win against Illinois. Steigleder was named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts.
The 'Cats head into Friday's contest 7-4-1 in the Big Ten and tied for third place. The Hoosiers stand at 8-2-3 overall, and are 2-1-2 in the Big Ten in a tie for fifth place. Indiana is ranked 36th in the latest RPI rankings.
Aulicino continues to lead the Northwestern offense with 19 points, which ranks third in the Big Ten. She ranks second in the Big Ten in assists and is tied for fourth in the Big Ten in goals.
Indiana heads into Friday's matchup with a stout defense that ranks fourth in the country in goals-against-average. The Hoosiers have allowed just five goals in 13 games.
The Cats have won the last four games against Indiana since 2016, and will be looking to add a fifth win in a row. Last season, Northwestern defeated the Hoosiers 1-0 in the spring 2021 opener behind a goal from Aurea Martin.
