'Cats Head to Philly for Temple Open

10/22/2021 10:00:00 AM | Women's Fencing

Northwestern Fencing looks to continue their strong start to the 2021 season on Saturday, as the Wildcats head to Philadelphia for the Temple Open.

The 'Cats kicked things off at last weekend's Remenyik Open in Evanston, where Sky Miller led the way with a first-place finish in the women's sabre. It was another impressive performance for Miller, after the sophomore placed seventh at the Division 1 Summer Nationals in July.

The Wildcats also saw strong performances from Anna Biasco and first-year Hanna Lipthay, who grabbed a pair of second-place finishes in the foil and epee respectively.

The Temple Open is one of the largest individual tournament for collegiate fencers in the country, featuring an estimated 500 student-athletes from over 30 schools.
