10/14/2021 10:05:00 PM | Women's Soccer

MADISON, Wis. – Despite 90 minutes of resilient defense, Northwestern fell 1-0 in overtime to Wisconsin Thursday night on the road.

Senior goalkeeper Mackenzie Wood made seven saves on the night including a few spectacular stops.

The Badgers, who were ranked No. 24 in RPI heading into the contest, improved to 8-3-4 and 3-2-2 in the Big Ten. Northwestern's record now stands at 7-6-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the Big Ten.

The Wildcats are still in seventh place in the conference and control their destiny for making the Big Ten Tournament with three regular season games left to go.

Northwestern returns home Sunday to Martin Stadium for a crucial mathcup against Minnesota, who is tied for eighth place with nine points.
