EVANSTON, Ill. - No. 21 Northwestern puts a four-game winning streak on the line in a top-25 clash against No. 16 Indiana on Sunday. Tip off is set for 11 a.m. CT on ESPN2 from Welsh-Ryan Arena.
NU sits at fifth place in the Big Ten (by win percentage), with a 6-2 record in conference play (8-2 overall), but trails Indiana (8-3, 6-1 B1G) in second by just a half game.
The Wildcats are coming off a 73-54 rivalry win over Illinois, sparked by 28 points from senior guard Lindsey Pulliam, including a 19-point third quarter. It was Pulliam's first 25+ game of the season after leading the Big Ten with nine such performances last campaign.
Veronica Burton was magisterial on Thursday, recording a career-high seven steals with 15 points, six rebounds, six assists and no turnovers in her second quadruple-nickel of the season. She is the only player in the NCAA this season to record a quadruple-nickel with no turnovers.
Last season, Northwestern knocked off then-No. 15 Indiana at Assembly Hall in overtime, 71-69, in an instant classic. The 'Cats erased a 12-point fourth quarter comeback.
