MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.- Northwestern continued its fantastic showing at the Big Ten Championships Friday, holding steady at fourth place in the competition with 694.5 points.

Two Wildcats landed on the podium in the 100 breast. Senior Sophie Angus broke her own school record to place second with a time of 58.89. Hannah Brunzell came in right behind her in third place, smashing her personal best at 59.23. Tara Vovk (10th) and Rebecca Kamau (16th) turned in times of 1:00.52 and 1:01.47.

Miriam Guevara earned silver in the 200 fly with a time of 1:55.11, while sophomore Ally Larson placed 12th with a time of 1:59.12.

Emma Lepisova turned in a top-five finish in the 100 back finals at 53.08. Miriam Guevara also qualified for the final heat but was disqualified.

Selen Ozbilen, Madeline Smith, Isabella Wallace and Ally Larson placed third in the 200 free relay with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 1:29.11.

Nine of the 14 Wildcats to participate in events on Friday reached the finals competition. Northwestern set a school record Wednesday with 11 swimmers reaching finals competitions.

In the diving championships, NU landed two top-10 finishes. Jaye Patrick finished eighth with a score of 261.50 and Markie Hopkins came in ninth, first in the "B" final, with a score of 273.20. Leah Parsons finished 13th at 229.95.

Northwestern returns to action in the Big Ten Women's Swimming Championships tomorrow, with prelims beginning at 11:00 a.m for the 100 free, 200 back, 200 breast and 1 meter diving. The 1650 free takes place at 4:30 p.m. and the remaining finals will occur at 6:30 p.m. CT.
