Seven Wildcats Earn NCAA Invite

EVANSTON, IL – Northwestern Women's Swimming has qualified seven student-athletes to compete at the 2020 NCAA Championships, the NCAA announced Wednesday afternoon.
Led by junior Calypso Sheridan, the Wildcats will have seven athletes competing in 14 events including the 100 breast, 200 breast, 100 fly, 200 fly, 100 back, 200 back, 200 IM and 400 IM.
During the 2020 season, Sheridan earned NCAA 'A' Cuts in both the 200 IM 400 IM, and was also invited to compete in the 200 Breast.
NU will take a trio of first-years to Georgia including Hannah Brunzell, Ally Larson and Emma Lepisova. Brunzell earned the nod in both the 100 and 200 Breast, Lepisova in both the 100 and 200 back and Larson in the 200 Fly.
Sophomore Miriam Guevara will return for her second consecutive NCAA Championship in both the 100 and 200 fly.
Junior Sophie Angus and senior Krystal Lara will make their NCAA Championship debuts with Angus swimming both the 100 and 200 breast and Lara in the 100 and 200 back.
The seven student-athletes invited marks the third largest contingent in program history and the largest since 2008.
The NU Divers will head to the 2020 Zone C Championships hosted by the University of Kentucky March 12 – 14th for NCAA qualifiers.
