’Cats Look to Stay Hot at Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

EVANSTON, Ill. — The Northwestern women's golf program will look to carry the momentum from its first two spring tournaments into the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, South Carolina, this weekend.
The Wildcats have posted a pair of top-three finishes this spring, including their first win of the year at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic and a third-place finish at the Bruin Wave Invitational last week.
The strong play has moved the 'Cats into the top 40 in the national rankings according to GolfStat.
The ninth annual Darius Rucker Intercollegiate will be played at the Par 71, 6,266-yard Pete Dye Course of the Long Cove Club.

The 17-team field features 12 teams in the top-25 nationally, including No. 1 Texas, No. 4 South Carolina, No. 6 Duke, No. 7 Wake Forest, No. 12 Alabama, No. 13 LSU, No. 14 UCLA, No. 18 Arkansas, No. 19 Auburn, No. 20 Baylor, No. 21 Vanderbilt and No. 24 Florida State.
Head Coach Emily Fletcher's lineup for the tournament will include sophomore Kelly Sim, first-year Irene Kim, senior Brooke Riley and sophomores Kelly Su and Jane Lu. First-year Rou Yin will compete as an individual.
Sim is coming off her first collegiate victory and Big Ten Golfer of the Week honors after capturing a share of the Bruin Wave Invitational.
