Five ‘Cats Earn All-America Honors

EVANSTON, IL – Northwestern Lacrosse had five players receive Inside Lacrosse Media All-America honors, Inside Lacrosse announced Tuesday morning.
The five student-athletes named to list include junior midfielder Brennan Dwyer, junior attacker Lauren Gilbert, senior attacker Lindsey McKone, junior defender Ally Palermo and sophomore attacker Izzy Scane.
At least one Wildcat was selected to each team with Palermo being selected to the first-team, Scane earning second, McKone and Dwyer earning third and Gilbert earning honorable mention.
Dwyer closed out the 2020 season ranked third national in draw controls per game (9.86) and second overall in draws. Scane was tied for 10th in goals (29) and ranked 9th in goals per game (4.14) and free position percentage (.800). McKone, Gilbert and Scane all also ranked top 50 in the NCAA in points and points per game.
These five 'Cats combined for 74 goals, 34 assists, 21 caused turnovers and 113 draw controls.
NU finished out the 2020 season 4-3, setting a single game record and landing sixth in the NCAA record book scoring, 30 goals against Detroit Mercy in their season opener. Dwyer also set a program record with 21 draws in a single game, which is fourth in NCAA history.
