Moss and Momberg Highlight Wildcats' MFC Awards

EVANSTON, Ill. Northwestern dominated the postseason awards for the Midwest Fencing Conference, headlined by Head Coach Zach Moss and Assistant Coach Eric Momberg taking home Women's Coach and Assistant Coach of the year awards.

This is the second time in the last three seasons that Moss has taken home Coach of the Year, the first time being the 2017-18 season. Moss and Momberg led the Wildcats to a second place finish at the MFC Championships this season and 29 team wins this season.

The 'Cats took home a total of 17 all-conference awards, the most of any team in the conference. Ohio State trailed behind with a total of 13. For each weapon, Northwestern had at least one 'Cat receive honors for first team, second team, and honorable mention.

Anna Biasco took first team in foil, while Alyssa Chen, Sarah Filby and Sofia Simontov took second. Julia Shalansky, Jerrica Liao and Isabelle Banin received honorable mention. 

Julia Falinska grabbed first team honors in epée and Emma Scala, Natalie Kim and Adelle Berdichevsky filled up the second team. Blowden Bindas and Shirley Luong took honorable mention. 

Abigail Swallow and Abby Tartell dominated sabre and took home first team. Thea Nguyen and Robyn Song followed behind with second team honors and Jacqueline Hua received honorable mention.
