'Cats Host Pair of Ranked Opponents at Combe Tennis Center

Evanston, Ill. -- Northwestern Women's Tennis will host No. 13 Vanderbilt on Friday, Jan. 31 at 4 p.m. CT, and No. 17 Princeton on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 11 a.m. CT at the Combe Tennis Center for its first home matches of the year.
All three teams were invited to the ITA Kick-Off Weekend last weekend. The Wildcats (1-1) are returning home after splitting results at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Nashville. After falling to Arizona State, 4-2, in the opening round, the 'Cats swept Penn 4-0, dominating both the doubles and singles matchups.
Vanderbilt (1-1) hosted its bracket that included Northwestern. The Commodores beat Penn in the first round before falling to Arizona State, 4-3, in the finals. Princeton (2-0) swept its bracket in Seattle beating Washington and USC.
Northwestern and Vanderbilt battled last year in Nashville where the 'Cats grabbed victories in doubles play but fell short in the single matches.
The 'Cats faced the Tigers in the first round of the 2019 NCAA tournament where they secured victories in the first and second seed singles matches before falling, 4-1.
