'Cats Set for ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Nashville

Evanston, Ill. -- Northwestern heads to the opening round of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend to take on the Arizona State on Friday, Jan. 24 at noon CT in Nashville, Tennessee. Matches will be streamed and live stats can be found here.
Northwestern clinched a spot in the 2019 National Indoor Championships after knocking off UCF and Miami at the Combe Tennis Center. It was the first time since 2014 that NU had advanced out of the Kick-Off Weekend.
Northwestern is coming off a busy weekend at the Miami Invite where six Wildcats came home with wins under their belts. Julie Byrne and Clarissa hand defeated No. 12 pair Georgia Drummy and Christina Rosca from Vanderbilt 6-1, while pair Hannah McColgan and Vanessa Streng triumphed over Oklahoma 6-4. First-years Briana Crowley and Christina Hand each won their single matches.
The 'Cats dominated the Sun Devils 4-2 in the 2016 ITA Kick-Off Weekend, winning all three doubles matches along with the No. 1 and No. 2 single matchups.
The winner of the Wildcats and Sun Devils matchup this weekend will move on to face the winner of Vanderbilt vs. Penn. The championship match is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday.
