'Cats Fall in Double-Overtime Battle vs. No. 3 Duke

EVANSTON, Ill. β No. 15 Northwestern gave No. 3 Duke all it could handle on Friday afternoon, battling for over 75 minutes but coming up just short, 2-1, in double overtime.

The Wildcats wasted no time getting started in their home opener at Lakeside Field as first-year Peyton Halsey scored her first-career goal just 37 seconds into the match. Redshirt first-year Bente Baekers provided the assist for her team-leading seventh point on the season.
Chicago's Big Ten Team will be back in action at Lakeside Field on Sunday afternoon to face off against No. 13 Boston College at 1:30 p.m. CT.
