‘Cats Fall to Iowa in Big Ten Opener

EVANSTON, IL – Northwestern suffered a setback in their first B1G test Friday evening, dropping the match to Iowa, 3-1, at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
First-year Temi Thomas-Ailara paced the 'Cats with 15 kills and notched five aces, both team-highs. Nia Robinson and Desiree Becker both joined Thomas-Ailara in double-digit kills with ten apiece.
The Wildcats battled throughout the match in what was a back-and-forth affair. In the second set, the score was knotted at 21 before NU rattled off two consecutive points to take the lead for good. After a couple Hawkeye points, Thomas-Ailara found the floor to secure the 'Cats lone set.
Chicago's Big Ten Team will be back in action tomorrow night as Nebraska comes to town. Start time is set for 7 p.m. in Welsh-Ryan Arena.
