OXFORD, OH – From the opening serve, Northwestern dominated to defeat USC Upstate 3-0 in the 2019 season opener Friday evening.
The Wildcats will face off against Virginia Tech and Miami (Ohio) tomorrow at 10 am and 6 pm respectively. Live stats will be available for both matches with the afternoon match live stream available here.

- The Wildcats are now 1-0 all time against USC Upstate
- Led by junior Nia Robinson's game high 12 kills, Northwestern out hit the Spartans 39-16
- Sophomore Michelle Lee led with a game high five serving aces while also adding 11 digs to NU's total of 42
- Graduate transfer Payton Chang led the 'Cats with a game high 37 assists. Chang also collected two kills and four digs.
- On defense, Olivia Viscuso dominated the net with one solo block and six block assists… First-year Temi Thomas-Ailara notched her first solo block and also had three block assists
- Five Wildcats had five kills against the Spartans including Viscuso, Thomas-Ailara, senior Allie Lindroth and juniors Danyelle Williams and Alana Walker
