Amonte Hiller Announces Fredericks as Assistant Coach

EVANSTON, Ill. – Combe Family Head Lacrosse Coach Kelly Amonte Hiller announced the addition of Shelby Fredericks as assistant coach, Tuesday afternoon.
"We could not be more excited to welcome Shelby Fredericks to our staff", said Amonte Hiller. "Shelby was a dynamic lacrosse player and leader in our program and will make an immediate impact as a coach. Last season, Shelby served as a graduate assistant and really found her love for coaching. Her incredible ability to communicate, break down the important skills of the game and positive mindset set her apart as a coach and make her an incredible motivator."
Fredericks joins the Wildcat staff as an assistant after spending the 2019 season as a graduate assistant, helping the 'Cats claim the programs first ever Big Ten Championship.
Previous to her time on staff as a GA, the New York native made her NU debut in 2015 where she led Northwrstern with 73 draws as the starting draw specialist. In her sophomore season, Fredericks became the number three all-time draw leader, grabbing a team-high 122 draws while also leading the team in assists.
In her final two seasons, Fredericks was named IWLCA First Team All-Region, Inside Lacrosse All-American Third Team, All-Big Ten and was a Tewaaraton Nominee.
After graduating from Northwestern, Fredericks was drafted to the Women's Professional Lacrosse League where she is currently playing for the WPLL Pride.
Fredericks will earn her master's degree in Sports Administration from Northwestern's School of Professional Studies.
