EVANSTON, Ill. – Kristina Minor has been hired as Northwestern's Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance, Combe Family Vice President for Athletics & Recreation Jim Phillips announced Tuesday.

"We're elated to welcome Kristina to our Northwestern family," said Phillips. "Compliance is a hallmark of the culture we've built through continuous learning and rigorous oversight. This is a standard that we're proud of and one that requires constant vigilance. There is no doubt after a comprehensive, national search that Kristina is the right person to lead those efforts in Evanston. Her professional journey and academic credentials speak for themselves, and her experience as a student-athlete affords a valuable perspective in service of our young men and women."

Minor joins the Wildcats after three years at Rutgers University, most recently as the Knights' Assistant A.D. for Compliance. She oversaw the education of coaches, student-athletes, administrators, and external groups on NCAA, Big Ten and Rutgers rules and regulations, and served as the compliance liaison for various varsity programs and administrative departments, as well as the sport administrator for the women's tennis team. The Mundelein, Illinois, native was honored with the 2017 National Association for Athletics Compliance Rising Star Award, and her tenure at Rutgers followed experience as an Assistant Compliance Director for the Big Ten Conference in Rosemont, after stops at the NCAA and Nike.

"My experience at Rutgers, supported by an amazing team, is something I'll always be grateful for and I'm proud to have been part of the progress taking place there," said Minor. "I'm thankful for the faith Jim Phillips, Janna Blais and the search committee have placed in me with this opportunity, and I'm thrilled to be part of such a wonderful University. I look forward to joining an incredible staff at Northwestern, making a positive impact on Wildcats student-athletes and returning home to Chicago."

A four-time tennis letterwinner and three-time Academic All-American at the University of Illinois, Minor received her Juris Doctor in May 2013 from Marquette University Law School, and a Master of Business Administration in Strategy & Leadership from the Rutgers Business School.
