Evanston, Ill. – Assistant Lacrosse Coach Tim McCormack has been named the head coach of the Arizona State Sun Devils women's lacrosse team, effective immediately.
McCormack has been a part of head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller's staff since Aug. 27, 2013, helping lead the Wildcats to various defensive achievements throughout his tenure. A former standout goalkeeper at the University of Massachusetts, his guidance most recently helped push the 'Cats to hold 11 opponents to 10 goals or less in the 2018 campaign. In his six seasons, McCormack instructed three All-Americans, eight All-Big-Ten selections and two All-ALC selections.
"I am incredibly honored to join Arizona State University as the women's lacrosse head coach," shared McCormack. "With the support of Ray Anderson, Don Bocchi and Christina Wombacher, I look forward to building a nationally competitive program in Tempe. With its world-class academia and outstanding facilities, ASU offers truly a one-of-a-kind experience for its student-athletes. I would also like to thank Northwestern's head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller and her husband Scott Hiller for their mentorship over the past six years."
During his tenure in Evanston the 'Cats earned a postseason berth in each of his six seasons, NU also appeared in two NCAA Quarterfinals, two NCAA second rounds, and two Final Four runs as well.
In addition to his work on the field, McCormack helped the Wildcats secure Inside Lacrosse's No. 5 recruiting class in 2016 and No. 4 group in 2018.
