Wildcats Earn Four All-Big Ten Honors

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern has earned four All-Big Ten Honors as voted on by Big Ten coaches, the conference announced Thursday afternoon.
 
Led by a unanimous selection of senior Selena Lasota, sophomore midfielder Brennan Dwyer, sophomore defender Ally Palermo and first-year attacker Izzy Scane also received first-time All-Big Ten honors with their designation. 
 
For the fourth year, Lasota has been voted to the All-Big Ten Team after becoming Northwestern's all-time goal leader and leading the team in the regular season with 64 goals, 80 points and 13 free position goals. The Campbell River, BC native was voted to the IWLCA Preseason All-American First Team and during the season has received three Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week awards and was the IWLCA player of the week twice.
 
After seven consecutive Big Ten Freshman of the Week Honors, Scane has earns her first All-Big Ten award. The first-year currently ranks third in the NCAA in goals among all first-years and leads the Big Ten in shooting percentage. The Michigan native has scored at least two goal in all but one game this season and is a IWLCA Freshman of the Year nominee.
 
Palermo earns her first All-Big Ten award after picking up 27 ground ball and causing six turnovers. The sophomore has been a huge presence on Northwestern's defense, her one-on-one cover play and ability to clear the ball in traffic creates opportunity for the Wildcats top-rated offense. 

Sophomore Brennan Dwyer earns her first All-Big Ten award after earning her first career Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honor. The Illinois native was dominant on the draw, leading the 'Cats with 139 draws which leads the Big Ten and is fifth among all sophomores in the NCAA. This also ranks Dwyer third on the Northwestern all-time single season list in draws.
 
Northwestern was second among all Big Ten teams with four nominations.
 
NU will be take the field Friday evening at 6:30 pm CT to take on University of Michigan in the opening round of the 2019 Big Ten Championship at Homewood Field.
