Wildcats' Final Tune Up on Tap at Silverado Showdown

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern women's head golf coach Emily Fletcher and the 16th-ranked Wildcats will play their final tune up before postseason play at the Silverado Showdown in Napa, California, April 7-9. 

The 'Cats are coming off a third-place finish at the PING/ASU Invitational last week. The Silverado Showdown, hosted by Oregon and Colorado, will be played at the Par 72, 6,120-yard Silverado Country Club.

NU is one of six teams in the field ranked in the top-25, including No. 1 USC, No. 4 Stanford, No. 9 UCLA, No. 24 Oregon and No. 25 Washington. The 18-team field also includes Colorado, San Jose State, Pepperdine,
Colorado State, San Diego State, Cal, Wisconsin, UNLV, Washington State, San Francisco, New Mexico and Iowa State. 

Chicago's Big Ten Team will tee off alongside the fourth-ranked Cardinal and the Cyclones Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m. CT. 

Fletcher's lineup this weekend will include reigning Big Ten Player of the Week and PING/ASU Invitational co-medalist Stephanie Lau, senior Janet Mao, junior Brooke Riley, first year Kelly Sim and first year Kelly Su

Just days after wrapping up her first collegiate win, Lau made history as one of 72 amateurs to participate in the inaugural Augusta National Women's Amateur. 

NOTES
- Lau earned her first collegiate win with three rounds under par at the PING/ASU Invitational, finishing 7-under in the 54-hole tournament. Lau has shot par of better a team-high 11 times this season. 
- Riley posted her team-leading fifth top-25 finish of the season after placing tied for 18th at the PING/ASU Invitational. The junior lefty matched her season low with a 68 in the final round to finish even par. 
- Mao posted a season-best 69 in the second round of the PING/ASU Invitational. 
- First year Jane Lu will compete as the Wildcats' individual once again. Last week, Lu carded a season-best 2-under, 70, in the final round of the PING/ASU Invitational.
