Scane and Dwyer Earn Big Ten Weekly Awards

EVANSTON, Ill. – After Northwestern's 17-12 win over Ohio State, the Wildcats has claimed two of the three Big Ten weekly awards.
Sophomore Brennan Dwyer earned her first Big Ten Defensive player of the Week award after grabbing a game-high 10 draw controls against OSU. Dwyer has won at least 10 draw controls in the last five games and is leading the Big Ten with 139 draws this season.
For the seventh consecutive week, first-year Izzy Scane has been awarded the Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors. In the season finale against the Buckeyes, Scane tallied four goals, one assist, one groundball and one draw control. Scane has scored at least two goals in all but one game this season and is averaging .616 pct in shooting.
The 'Cats will be head to Baltimore this weekend for the 2019 Big Ten Championship hosted by Johns Hopkins. The tournament will take place May 3 & 5 with NU facing Michigan in their opening game on Friday evening at 6:30 pm CT.
