EVANSTON, Ill. – For the second time in program history, Northwestern has swept all three Big Ten Player of the Week awards after back-to-back top-10 wins.
For the sixth consecutive week, first-year Izzy Scane has earned the Big Ten Freshman of the Week award, the most of any freshman since the award was created in 2015. In the games against Michigan and Notre Dame, Scane combined for five goals and grabbed six draw controls.
After a career-high 14 saves against #4 Notre Dame, senior goalkeeper Mallory Weisse has earned her first Big Ten Defender of the Week award, the fourth of her career. In the win against the Wolverines, Weisse also grabbed 11 saves, finishing the week with a .53 save pct.
After claiming the title of NU's all-time goal leader in the game against Michigan, senior Selena Lasota has earned her third Big Ten Offensive Player of the week award this season and the eighth of her career. Lasota combined for nine goals, one assist, five ground balls and two caused turnovers between the two games. The senior has 59 goals this season and 261 in her career.
The Wildcats will back on the field Thursday afternoon in Columbus, Ohio, to take on Ohio State.
