Wildcats Ready to Take On James Madison in WNIT Semifinals

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern (20-14, 9-9 Big Ten) will travel to Harrisonburg, Virginia to take on James Madison (29-5, 17-1 CAA) in the WNIT semifinals on Wednesday, April 3. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. CT.
The Wildcats are coming off a 61-58 victory over Ohio in Welsh-Ryan Arena. Northwestern trailed by as many as eight points against the Bobcats in the second half before mounting a 9-2 run in the final four minutes of the game to advance to the semifinals.
Lindsey Pulliam paced the Wildcats with a game-high 22 points, aided by career-high 12 free throws. It was the 12th time this season she scored at least 20 points. The sophomore guard is averaging 20.0 ppg in the postseason.
Veronica Burton added 15 points, six assists and three steals, including a crucial steal and pair of free throws to put the Wildcats ahead with a minute left. Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah continued to dominate the boards with a game-high 15 rebounds. The senior has now surpassed her 381 single season rebound record she set last year with 382 in her senior campaign.
The 2019 trip to the WNIT semifinals marks the furthest run the Wildcats have made in the postseason under head coach Joe McKeown.

Winner of Wednesday's game will play the winner of TCU and Arizona in the WNIT championship game on Saturday, April 6 on CBS Sports Network.
