Wildcats Ready to Take On West Virginia in WNIT Round of 16

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern (18-14, 9-9 Big Ten) will travel to Morgantown, West Virginia to take on the West Virginia Mountaineers in Round of 16 of the WNIT, Wednesday, March 27. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. CT. 
 
The Wildcats kept its postseason alive after a thrilling 54-47 victory over the Toledo Rockets. Northwestern trailed by as many as 16 points midway through the third quarter before closing the game on a blistering 32-9 run.  
 
Sophomore Lindsey Pulliam made history by becoming the fastest player in program history to reach 1,000 career points. Pulliam led the way with 17 points to go along with five rebounds. 
 
The Wildcats make their third Round of 16 WNIT appearance under head coach Joe McKeown, having also made it in 2010 and 2014.
 
This is the first meeting between the two teams in the Joe McKeown era although McKeown is no stranger to facing the Mountaineers, owning a 7-3 record in his coaching career.

The winner of the Wildcats and Mountaineers will advance to the quarterfinals to take on the winner of Western Kentucky/Ohio University.
