The Wildcats also dominated in the paint, as they out-rebounded Dayton 47-39 and scored 40 points in the paint compared to just 15 from the Flyers.
The 'Cats closed the first quarter on an 8-0 run and held Dayton scoreless for the final 6:12 of the quarter to open up a 17-6 lead. This marks the sixth time this season the Wildcats have held an opponent to six points or fewer in a quarter.
The Wildcats continued to roll in the second quarter as they made eight of their last 10 buckets to close the first half. They did not let up in the second half, leading by a comfortable margin of at least 20 for almost the entire half.
As a team, NU finished the game shooting 41-percent from the field and assisted on 21 of their 29 made field goals. On the other end, the #B1GCats held Dayton to just 27-percent (17-of-62) shooting.
