No. 14 Wildcats Head West for Bruin Wave Invitational

EVANSTON, Ill. — The 14th-ranked Northwestern women's golf program will head west for the 10th annual Bruin Wave Invitational sponsored by the Gifford Foundation (Feb. 25-26) at the San Luis Obispo Country Club (Par 72, 6,323 yards).

The 15-team field will include five teams ranked in the Golf Stat top-25, including No. 4 UCLA, No. 5 Stanford, No. 17 Arizona State, No. 25 Pepperdine and the Wildcats, along with Cal, Cal Poly, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Ole Miss, Oregon, San Diego State, San Francisco, UC Irvine and Washington.
The Wildcats are coming off a fourth-place finish at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic two weeks ago in which first year Kelly Su posted her first career top-15 finish and junior Brooke Riley finished tied for 18th. The 'Cats were without senior Stephanie Lau, who will return to the lineup this week.
Teams will play 36 holes on Monday beginning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. PT and conclude the tournament on Tuesday with 18 holes. This marks the fourth-straight year the event is being held at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
Head Coach Emily Fletcher's lineup will include Lau, Su, Riley, senior Janet Mao and first year Kelly Sim. Su posted back-to-back rounds of par at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic to lead the 'Cats with a 15th-place finish. This will be the first time Chicago's Big Ten Team participates in the event.
