Hand Picks Up Ranked Singles Victory, 'Cats Fall to Georgia Tech

ATLANTA — No. 59 Clarissa Hand picked up a top-30 win in singles play by defeating No. 26 Kenya Jones, 7-6, 6-4, but Georgia Tech held on for a 5-2 win Sunday afternoon.
Northwestern (5-4) picked up the doubles point to grab an early 1-0 lead. Hand teamed up with Lee Or at No. 1 doubles to beat Kenya Jones and Jeanette Lin, 6-3, while Julie Byrne and Hannah McColgan secured the point thanks to a 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles.
The Yellow Jackets turned it up in singles play by winning five of the six singles matches.
