Rosendahl Named 2019 Wayne Duke Award Recipient

EVANSTON, Ill. – Senior diver Olivia Rosendahl was named a recipient of the 2019 Wayne Duke Post Graduate Award on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Rosendahl has been a force both on the board and in the classroom during her time at Northwestern. A two-time NCAA Champion, she has maintained a 3.87 GPA while majoring in international studies and French with a minor in political science, serves as a team captain for the women's swimming and diving team, earned Co-Big Ten Diver of the Year honors and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors.
 
As a member of the US Diving National Team, Rosendahl has become a six-time National Champion and a two-time bronze medalist at the World University Games. Outside of the pool, she is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Alpha Phi Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha.
 
The Los Angeles native was selected from 27 nominated student-athletes and is the third Northwestern student-athletes to win. She is also the first female Wildcat to receive these honors. Rosendahl plans to use her scholarship to continue to pursue her interest in international affairs while training for the 2020 Olympics.
 
Rosendahl will be recognized during the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament Saturday, March 9 in Indianapolis.
 
The Wayne Duke Award was named for the late Big Ten commissioner who served from 1971-1989 to recognize one male and one female Big Ten senior pursuing a postgraduate degree for achievements in academics, athletics, extracurricular activities and leadership"
 
Rosendahl will be back on the board to defend her Big Ten title February 20-23 in Bloomington, Ind. as the women's swimming and diving team gears up for the 2019 Big Ten Championship.
