Thomas-Ailara Earns All-Freshman Honors

EVANSTON, IL – First-year Temi Thomas-Ailara received two All-Big Ten season honors, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
Thomas-Ailara was one of eight players selected to the 2019 Big Ten All-Freshman team and also received second team All-Big Ten honors. The Illinois native is the first Northwestern in program history to receive both in a single year and the seventh Northwestern student-athlete to be voted to the All-Freshman team.
Both awards come after the first-year led the Wildcats with 24 double-digit kill games totaling 398 kills and received Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors four times, the most of any NU volleyball athlete. Thomas-Ailara ranked second in the Big Ten in kills per set and top-15 in serving aces.
Senior Emily Ehman was also awarded the Northwestern Sportsmanship Award.
