Wildcats Rout Xavier To Wrap Up Non-Con Slate

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Northwestern capped off the West Palm Invitational with an offensive outburst to defeat Xavier, 79-59 on Friday at Keiser University.
The Wildcats improved to 10-1 to close out their nonconference slate. They are one of just six Big Ten teams with only ones loss so far this season.
The 'Cats matched their season-high in points with 79 and shot 48% from the field.
Junior guard Lindsey Pulliam led all scorers with 21 points. The 'Cats are 4-0 this season when she scores 20 or more.
Sophomore guard Veronica Burton turned in a complete performance all around the court, finishing with 18 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and four steals.
Senior forward Abi Scheid continued her hot shooting from behind the arc this campaighn, making five threes on eight attempts en route to 16 points. Fellow Senior Abbie Wolf added 10 points and eight rebounds.
The Wildcat defense forced 19 turnovers and held Xavier to just 22 field goals on 62 attempts.
The offense shot 60% from three, a season-high. Pulliam and Burton added two threes each to Scheid's five.
Northwestern begins Big Ten Play on Sat. Dec. 28, at Illinois. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
