Wildcats Set to Host Terrapins in Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals

EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Northwestern Wildcats are set to host the Maryland Terrapins in the Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. and will be streamed on BTN+.

Northwestern (8-7-2, 3-3-2 Big Ten) earned the No. 4 seed, while the defending national champions, the Maryland Terrapins will be the No. 5 seed.
In their last matchup, the Wildcats topped a ranked Maryland team, 3-1 on Sept. 20 in College Park, securing their first win against a ranked opponent since 2016. Bardia Kimiavi opened the scoring in the fourth minute on a Matt Moderwell assist. After Maryland tied the game early in the second half, Moderwell responded with a goal of his own, followed by a Ty Seager goal in the 85th minute to put the game out of reach.
The winner of Sunday's matchup will face either Indiana, Ohio State or Rutgers in the semifinal, held at Ludwig Field in College Park, MD.
Northwestern is entering the game on a four-game point streak, including wins against Rutgers, Michigan State, and Marian, and a tie at Wisconsin. The Wildcats concluded the regular season scoring the fourth most goals in the Big Ten (23).
Senior Matt Moderwell is having a season to remember, finishing tied for third in the Big Ten assists (6), tied for fourth in points (16), and tied for fifth in goals (5). Moderwell was one of two players in the Big Ten to record at least five goals and six assists. Junior goalie Miha Miskovic also had a strong season, recording 44 saves, tied for the fourth most in the Big Ten.
