Sheridan and Brunzell Earn Big Ten Weekly Award

EVANSTON, IL – Junior Calypso Sheridan and first-year Hannah Brunzell both earned their first Big Ten weekly honors of the season, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
Swedish native, Brunzell captured two individual wins in her collegiate debut at the 2019 SMU Classic in the 100 breast and 200 breast. The first-year also swam second leg on the second place 400 medley relay team and the winning 200 medley relay team. Brunzell also nabbed NCAA 'B' cuts in both the 100 and 200 breast.
Sheridan brought home four individual wins at the SMU Invite in the 200 IM, 400 IM, 100 Back and 200 Back. The NCAA All-American captured four NCAA 'B' cuts and shattered multiple records including her own program record in the 200 back and the meet and pool record in the 400 IM, which was previous held by assistant coach Megan Hawthorne. The Brisbane native also swam lead off on both the 200 and 400 medley relay to earn meet MVP.
The 'Cats will be back in the pool November 1st and 2nd as they head to Michigan to take on Oakland University and Michigan State.
