Kim and Riley in Top 30 After Two Rounds in Stanford

Stanford, Ca. – First-year Irene Kim shot an even par to lead the Wildcats in the second round of play at the Stanford Intercollegiate. Kim and senior Brooke Riley rank in the top 30 after 36 holes.
Going into the round 2-over, Kim struggled at the outset with a double-bogey start on the back nine. She regained her footing and tallied five birdies through the remaining holes to bring her score to an even par for the day. Kim is 2-over through 36 holes, and ranks tied for 22nd in a 90-player field, an 11 spot jump from the first round.
Riley is 3-over going into the final day of the tournament, moving up five spots in the field to rank tied for 28th.
Sophomore Kelly Sim went into the second day 1-under, but was unable to hold onto her lead, shooting 8-over on the day.

The Wildcats have posted 28 birdies through two days, fourth best in the tournament. Kim also leads the team in birdies with four on the first 18 and five in the second round. She is tied for third in the field with nine total.
The 'Cats will look to bounce back on the final day of the tournament, going into round three in 14th. Northwestern tees off for the final round tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8:30.
