Wildcats Sweep Colgate in Friday Doubleheader

HAMILTON, N.Y. — Northwestern swept Colgate in the second half of their Friday double-header at the Ellis Rowland Memorial Tournament.
Earlier in the day, the 'Cats fell to Ivy League foe Princeton, 3-0.
Chicago's Big Ten Team will battle Stephen F. Austin at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday afternoon to wrap up the three-day sojourn in upstate New York.

- Northwestern posted a .463 hitting percentage, just outside the top-five ever in a single match in Northwestern history … The mark was the best for NU since recording a .485 clip against Rutgers last season (Sept. 29).
- Chicago's Big Ten Team improves to 2-0 all-time against Colgate … Both wins have been sweeps.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES:
- Alana Walker recorded the second-best hitting percentage in a single match in program history (min. 10 TAs) … Kim Ludwig is in first place in NU history with her .917 output on Sept. 17, 1994, against Milwaukee.
- Three 'Cats had double-digit kills, including Abryanna Cannon (13), Nia Robinson (11), and Hanna Lesiak (10) … For Lesiak, it was her first-career double-digit kill contest … For Cannon, it was her highest hitting percentage in her young career (.688).
- A pair of Wildcats had double-digit assists … Kiara McNulty had 20 helpers, while Britt Bommer added 17 assists.
MATCH NOTES:
- S1 | Northwestern hit at a blistering .500 clip in the first set to dispatch the Raiders, 25-21 … Alana Walker led the way with five kills (on six attacks).
- S2 | Abryanna Cannon went 4-for-4 and Nia Robinson went 5-for-7 with one error en route to another .500 hitting percentage … The 'Cats beat Colgate, 25-22, limiting the Raiders to a .174 clip.
- S3 | Hanna Lesiak and Abryanna Cannon combined for 11 kills and the Wildcats topped Colgate, 25-18.

TEAM NOTES:
- Northwestern dropped its first match of the season.
- Princeton is now 1-0 all-time against Chicago's Big Ten Team.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES:
- Ella Grbac set a season high with her .312 hitting percentage, posting double-digit kills (10) for the first time in her career.
- Abryanna Cannon's .286 hitting percentage was her best output in a match so far this season.
- Nia Robinson led the 'Cats with 10 kills … Kiara McNulty paced Northwestern with 19 helpers … Sarah Johnson had a team-high 13 digs.
- Britt Bommer made her 2018 debut in the contest … She had 14 helpers in the match.
MATCH NOTES:
- S1 | Despite holding Princeton to a sub-.300 hitting percentage, the Tigers downed the Wildcats, 25-18.
- S2 | Sophomore Nia Robinson logged five kills on seven swings, but NU dropped set two, 25-20.
- S3 | The 'Cats dropped the last set, 25-18 … Abryanna Cannon had a .556 third-set hitting percentage, posting five kills on nine swings with no errors.
